I got trouble like you ain't never seen I must have a million enemies. They're on their way to come and kill me tonight, But the Lord is coming soon, Oh my my. All my life I ain't done no good Till a preacher's wife told me what I should. She said repent your sins and when I asked her why She said the Lord is coming soon, Oh my my. The Lord is coming soon, Oh my my The Lord is coming soon, Oh my my She said repent your sins and when I asked her why She said the Lord is coming soon, Oh my my Sit right down and I will tell the tale Of how the walls in Jericho did fell. They gathered round it and let out this cry; They said the Lord is coming soon, Oh my my. He's the pillar of fire consuming everything, The one that Moses followed to the raging sea Singin' Pharaoh's men, they are close behind But the Lord is coming soon, Oh my my. The Lord is coming soon, Oh my my The Lord is coming soon, Oh my my Pharaoh's men, they are close behind, but The Lord is coming soon, Oh my my

Well I got this old guitar and I am changin' all it's strings. Growing out my hair and I'm selling everything. It won't be long 'Til I'm back out on the road. It won't be long. Get your fill of me tonight girl, Because tomorrow I'll be gone. I got this burning in my soul I got this aching in my heart. I got a road I got to travel down And its high time that I start. It won't be long 'Til you won't see me anymore. It won't be long. That's why I told you when I met you That I couldn't stick around for very long. Everybody everybody knows You got to live before you die and Make the most of everything before you go. Everybody everybody knows Everybody listen up now It won't be long. To you who diagnose diseases But don't offer any cures, And to you who laugh at honor And are shocked to find traitors It won't be long 'Til it all comes back to you. It won't be long. Laugh it up now while you can boys Judgment day is gonna come. And to you beaten and betrayed You lonely brokenhearted masses He that loves this life will lose it And the first will be last. It won't be long 'Til these promises come true. It won't be long. Stop living like a slave, you've been set free Now pick up your mat and walk.

Nature 03:20
If you ever want to find a brand new home I'll take you away. I won't ask why. We could find a field of our very own; Playground and garden, and our bed at night. We could take a train across the city, And watch the puppet show as it goes by; Men and women running to get home Or bartering or fighting, talking out of rhyme, The earnest mechanic, the lounger, the beggar, The boys and the dogs in the alleyway. The architecture, like frozen music, Sings a song of this city's better days. We could just stay here out of the forest And let the postman run all our errands for us, But there's something shameful in the pure joy of the poet Until he is alone without the eyes of man to spoil it. If you ever want to find a brand new home I'll take you away. I won't ask why. If you ever wanna find a brand new home Just say goodbye.

The wind is blowing cold tonight, And the streets are awfully wet. I ducked beneath a neon sign and Through the door I went. I fell in love a long time ago With a girl who don't know my name, So if I don't know much about love Then I guess I'm the one we should blame. I had a enough cash for a stiff drink, Just something to warm up my bones. I been all around and I'm lonely. I know what I'm missing and I miss it all. I fell in love a long time ago But I let my pride get in the way So if I don't know much about love Then I guess I'm the one we should blame. The dancing girls twirl in the red light. They look better from farther away. The bartender gives the last call for the night And soon I'm back out in the rain. I fell in love like never before And Elenore was the girl's name. But I left her crying, I don't know what for But I guess I'm the one we should blame.

I been down to the river And I've seen the new believer's getting baptized. And I've been stumbling through the darkness Liquored up and heartless and lost. I been down in the subway And I've seen that old man with a burden. He may shift that heavy suitcase from one hand to the next but he'll never put it down. And I used to think of myself as someone Who could pick myself up by my own bootstraps. But if you ignore the truth for long enough You really only give it cause to bite back. God told Paul, in your weakness I Am strong. I will no take this sin away Because my grace, it is enough. And I am just a little child So worn out and wobbly kneed, But I know this world is not the only thing The good Lord's got for me; I been down to the river.

All my friends are stray cats and dogs And crying little kids; Lonely men, abandoned women Living on the skids. Oh but, that doesn't make me bad It just makes me a trifle sad Because I haven't anybody To call my own. I guess that's part of being a rolling stone. But if I had it all to do One more time again I'd ask if I could have it back And share it with my friends. That's the kind of stranger that I am. Country roads and city sidewalks; Places left to see. Vagabond kings and gypsy queens Have reasons to be free. But freedom may soon be gone And so I got to travel on Even if I've got to Make it on my own I guess I'll live and die a rolling stone.

"Stranger That I Am" was written by Bro. John Wagner. All other songs were written by Nicholas Rowe (with thanks to R. W. Emerson for the inspiration behind "Nature" and Brennan Manning for the inspiration behind "Down To The River.")

Let's give a big hand to Gena Rowe for her background vocals throughout the album, Brandon Abbott for providing most of the organ work on the album and background vocals on "The Lord Is Coming Soon," and Jonathan Hape for all the drum work, the bass on "The Lord Is Coming Soon" and "It Won't Be Long," and what I like to call the 'Auld Lang Slide' guitar work on "The One We Should Blame." Also, we can't forget about Jeremiah Wagner, Amanda Wagner, Lauren Rowe, and Justin Prouse for their additional background vocals on "Stranger That I Am."

All songs recorded and mixed by Nicholas Rowe except "The One We Should Blame," recorded and mixed by Jonathan Hape, and all songs mastered at Holiday Friends Record Co. by Justin Jolley.
